The Heart of Our Care:
Ruth Martin
Ruth is the happiest when she can care for people, and she has been doing this her whole life. Her way was paved at the age of nine, when Ruth took care of her ailing father until his death when she was in her early twenties.
Educated in Europe with work experience in Germany and Switzerland in Nursing and Midwifery, Ruth believes this personal and professional background is the reason her caring retains an “old-fashioned” touch.
Ruth believes in people first! A caregiver should listen to them before acting. As a Consultant for the Elderly, and Disabled in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties, she fulfills one of her longstanding dreams — “Giving people a safe place where they can be cared for.”
Ruth Martin first worked as a Caregiver for Home Care Agencies when she moved to the United States. She then quickly progressed to Program Manager, then to Administrator/Director for Assisted Living Facilities. These positions expanded her experience in Home Care and taught her all aspects of what it means to truly be a good caregiver.
In addition to her certification in Europe, Ruth Martin is certified by the State of California as Administrator for Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly and a member of the National Association of Professional Women.
